The Gum Tree Cottage York Bay

· Pet Friendly Accommodation

The Gum Tree Cottage is a modern open plan architecturally designed open planned studio built on a stunning 2,000 square metre very private tree covered section which runs down to the beach. The property enjoys all day sun and views over Wellington harbour. It has one double bed and one separate smaller bedroom / study with two single beds. Modern kitchen and bathroom with washing machine and all whiteware, small television and radio CD player. There is a BBQ on the large deck and for the brave, a heated outside bath set into the hill side over looking Lowry Bay.

Access to the cottage is via a drive way to a car deck for parking. The cottage has walk on access off the car deck via 16 wooden steps. There is no wheel chair access but elderly persons have easily managed the steps which descend down to the deck of the cottage. The steps are well lighted by automatic lights at night.

York Bay is 22 km from Wellington city. There is public transport but a car is useful as the nearest shops are in Eastbourne 3 km away. There are two bikes under the deck which can be used by tenants.

This is a very private warm cottage with (on a good Wellington day) some of the best views in New Zealand. The property is surrounded by native bush and enjoys the attention of native birds seeking fruits and berries. From time to time deer visit from the adjacent regional park. When the famous wind blows in Wellington it is possible to find sheltered garden areas around the property.
