Causes of Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid gland (two small nodules that lie in neck region) doesn’t produce enough thyroid hormone.  Thyroid hormone has an important influence in metabolism in all organs of the body.  Therefore you will see a range of symptoms.

Hypothyroidism the most common hormonal disease veterinarian’s see in dogs, and most commonly affects middle age to older dogs. It is very easy to treat and it occurs in people too.
